FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – 2017 Cure Bowl Golf Classic Raises $20,000 for Advancing Cancer Research at the UCF College of Medicine
June 7, 2017 (Orlando, Florida) – The Cure Bowl Golf Classic welcomed more than 100 business leaders and supporters to its 6th Annual Cure Bowl Golf Classic, formerly the Med School Classic, raising $20,000 for the UCF College of Medicine to advance cancer research.
The 18-hole scramble, held April 24 at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club, featured putting and course contests, tee off lunch, raffle prizes and a catered dinner. This year, the event was orchestrated by a joint effort from two 501(c)3 organizations: the Orlando Sports Foundation, producers of the AutoNation Cure Bowl, and the College of Medicine Scholarship Fund, Inc.
“A merger of the two organizations to oversee the golf tournament turned out to be a huge success,” stated Committee Chair, Dan DeCubellis. “Both of our missions align with finding a cure for cancer and together we can make a larger impact.”
The Orlando Sports Foundation will continue the tradition in the spring of 2018 at a site to be announced.
