This Week in The American and Sun Belt – Nov. 10

ORLANDO, Fla. (OrlandoSportsFoundation.com) – As the college football season enters its ninth week on Saturday, there are a number of big matchups in the American Athletic Conference and Sun Belt Conference.

In The American, No. 12 UCF looks to continue its 21-game winning streak when it hosts Navy, while USF travels to Cincinnati for a primetime showcase between the second and third place teams in the east division. Memphis seeks its sixth win to become bowl eligible against Tulsa and Houston hosts Temple in a cross-divisional contest.’

The Sun Belt is highlighted by Troy battling Georgia Southern for first place in the east division. Bowl eligibility is on the line when Arkansas State heads to Coastal Carolina, while ULM can secure a postseason berth with a win over South Alabama.

The AutoNation Cure Bowl featuring teams from the American Athletic Conference and Sun Belt Conference is set for Dec. 15 at 1:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The bowl’s mission is to bring teams together to find a cure for cancer.

  • This will be the 29th meeting between Tulsa and Memphis with the last three matchups being won by the visiting team.
  • Tulsa took a win against UConn last Saturday that snapped their seven-game slide.
  • Two of Memphis’ three conference losses were decided by one point.
