The OSF Receives Two 2020 SPORTYS Nominations

ORLANDO, Fla. (CureBowl.com) – The Orlando Sports Foundation has been nominated for two 2020 SPORTYS. The FBC Mortgage March 2 Cure Presented by Lincoln Property Company has been nominated for Sponsorship Activation of the Year and our CEO, Alan Gooch, has been nominated for Executive of the Year.

The Orlando Sports Foundation (OSF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research. The OSF holds several fundraising events throughout the year. Their signature event is the Cure Bowl, a NCAA college football bowl game played each December at Exploria Stadium.

The inaugural 2019 FBC Mortgage March 2 Cure Presented by Lincoln Property Company, which has been nominated for Sponsorship Activation of the Year, was the pregame event for the 2019 Cure Bowl. Football fans, team bands, cheerleaders, breast cancer survivors, and OSF supporters enjoyed pregame activities at Church Street Station before joining together to march to Exploria Stadium for the 2019 Cure Bowl.

Alan Gooch has been nominated for Executive of the Year. Alan is the CEO of the Orlando Sports Foundation and one of the 12 founding board members. Under his guidance, the OSF has launched multiple new fundraising events, including the March 2 Cure.

About the SPORTYS – First introduced in 2011, the SPORTYS were an awards show dedicated to the Greater Orlando sports community. The show recognized dozens of athletes and professionals for their unwavering work and performance in our local sports industry. The SPORTYS continued in this format through 2013.

After a 6-year hiatus, the SPORTYS are returning in 2020 and will be aired commercial-free on WKMG-TV News 6 (and streamed online) with a new focus on honoring sports business professionals whose contributions and impact are vital in making Greater Orlando one of the country’s premier sports destinations.

Watch the 2020 SPORTYS live on Saturday, August 29 at 7pm EST. The show can be viewed locally on News 6 WKMG / ClickOrlando or streamed online from any location at clickorlando.com/watch-live/!
