Orlando Sports Foundation Announces 2017 Board Leadership
Orlando, Fla. — Following its second successful year of the AutoNation Cure Bowl, which matched the University of Central Florida versus Arkansas State University at Camping World Stadium, the Orlando Sports Foundation (OSF) announced Mack McLaughlin will lead the Board as its President for one year. Kay Stanney, has been elected to serve as board Vice President.
The eight returning members who have led the organization, serving in these roles effective February 16th are as follows:
- Mack McLaughlin, President and Media Events Sets – Facilities (CEO, FX Design)
- Kay Stanney , Vice President and Science Officer (CEO, Design Interactive)
- Jim Warmus, Chief Financial Officer, (Partner/CPA, WithumSmith+Brown)
- Jeff Lagos, Selection Committee Chair (CEO, Insurance Office of America)
- Megan Dowdy, Host Committee Chair, (President, Megan Dowdy Realty)
- Scott Rose, Team Scouting Coordinator (Agent, Allstate Insurance)
- Dave Almstead, Communications Media/TV Chair (CEO, ONE CONNXT)
- Alan Gooch, Executive Director (Chief Executive Officer, AutoNation Cure Bowl)
“Strong passion and commitment from our board continues to guide the Foundation’s underlying mission,” stated President Mack McLaughlin. “Raising $2.3 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation wouldn’t be possible without this level of cross-industry collaboration leading up to our largest focus: The AutoNation Cure Bowl, presented by Florida Hospital. The game is a history of success in the making and I am honored to be part of it.”
Mack McLaughlin has served on the OSF board since its inception in 2008. Breast cancer has hit his family several times, recently with the loss of his cousin in 2016. While serving, he is also the CEO and Emmy Award Winning Creative Director for FX Design Group & Giant Octopus responsible for the company’s overall direction and development of the company’s services.
McLaughlin holds a degree in Theatre from the University of Central Florida and is a huge booster of the University.
ABOUT ORLANDO SPORTS FOUNDATION
The Orlando Sports Foundation, Inc. (OSF) was founded in May 2008 and is a 501(c)(3) organization whose goal is to bring teams together to find a cure for cancer. To date, the organization and its’ title sponsor has raised $2.3 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This donation is the highest amount given in the history of college football bowls from a single bowl to its cancer research foundation charity partner.
This year’s AutoNation Cure Bowl, will be played December 16th at Orlando’s Camping World Stadium and televised nationwide on CBS Sports Network, 5:30 p.m. OSF hosts its annual Strike Out Breast Cancer bowling event and is the beneficiary of other community events such as Fire in the Park Chili Challenge and the UCF Med School Golf Classic. OSF is led by a volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Board.
